Jennifer Lawrence Calls Out Reporter On

Jennifer Lawrence is receiving criticism after she scolded a reporter backstage for reading his question off his phone during her Golden Globes press room interview.

“You can’t live your whole life behind your phone, bro,” said Lawrence, who won the Golden Globe for best actress in a musical or comedy. “You can’t do that. You’ve got to live in the now.”

After the reporter apologized and continued his question saying, “How do you see yourself for the Oscar night,” Lawrence once again cut him off joking, “We’re at the Golden Globes. If you put your phone down, you’d know that.”

Meanwhile, many people online made various assumptions after seeing the 23 second clip stating that the journalist was not a native English speaker and calling Lawrence “rude,” “classless” and saying that she needed to apologize.

What was not shown in the video is the follow-up question that was asked, “How was working with Édgar Ramírez?” Which Lawrence answers – sans sarcasm – “Working with Édgar was wonderful. He is so sweet. He’s great, a terrific actor.”
