Chelsea Handler doesn’t plan on being part of the Instagram community anymore after they removed her topless photo.
The 39-year old comedian slammed Instagram after they erased a picture of her topless on top of a horse, spoofing a famous image of Russian President Vladimir Putin with the caption: “Anything a man can do, a woman has the right to do better.”
Once removed, Handler was quick to repost it and said that if it was removed once more, it meant that Putin had more rights than she did, “Taking this down is sexist. I have every right to prove I have a better body than Putin. Talk to your bosses.” But, as expected, Instagram erased it again.
“If a man posts a photo of his nipples, it’s ok, but not a woman? Are we in 1825?,” Handler wrote on her next Instagram picture she posted with the site’s explanation as to why they deleted her photos.
Now she has made the decision to leave Instagram behind and take her breasts elsewhere, Twitter to be exact.
This morning Handler made the announcement, along with a picture of her dogs, that she was leaving the Instagram world stating: “You can now find my dogs and my breasts on Twitter only where my followers have the right to choose what they say. Bye bye instablock.”
This isn’t the first time and probably not the last time that a celebrity leaves Instagram because of its nudity policy. Rihanna left IG in April after she was asked to erase the pictures of her photoshoot with Lui Magazine she had shared.
