Selena Marie Gomez was born the 22nd of July, 1992, in Grand Prairie, Texas. Her father, Ricardo Joel Gomez, is of Mexican descent and her mother, Amanda Dawn “Mandy” Cornett, is of Italian ancestry.
She was named after the late Tejana singer Selena Quintanilla.
Selena made her TV debut as a 10-year-old next to the giant purple dinosaur. This is also where she met future BFF Demi Lovato.
