Grammy Award-winner Seal speaks the truth in his new faux-album titled Honest Christmas Carols, which he debuted on Tuesday, December 15, on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Dressed in a simple black suit with a festive red and white scarf, the singer introduced himself, “Hello, I’m Seal. Every Christmas, artists like myself release albums about the joy and wonder of the season. But what about the parts of Christmas that aren’t quite so joyous? What about the parts of Christmas that kind of suck? Well, now there’s an album for that too.” The “Kissed By a Rose” singer then went on to present his newest compilation of songs about the parts of Christmas that aren’t quite so joyous and that actually kind of suck.
With a series of fake Holiday songs like “Mom’s Drunk Again”, Seal tackles the themes of ugly sweater parties, drunk relatives, overweight high school friends, your cousin’s not-so-great boyfriend and even pre-holiday breakups.
“I don’t want to meet your family, because I’m breaking up with you next week,” belts out the British singer-songwriter.
Unfortunately, Seal’s Honest Christmas Carols is only a fake album but would nonetheless be a total hit and perfect holiday gift. Watch the hilarious clip below!
