Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was awarded the title of “Highest Paid Actor” by Forbes Magazine this year thanks to many hours of dedication and hard work. So it’s no surprise the former full-time wrestler is not able to commit to every project he’d like to work on. LRM is reporting that production on the third installment of the G.I. Joe films is currently delayed due to the unavailability of the 44-year-old actor.
They spoke to Byung-Hun Lee at the Toronto Film Festival who gave them a status on the film.
“I heard from the studio that there’s a possibility to do the third one, but I think they’re waiting for the actors’ schedules,” he said. “They’re arranging the schedules for the actors, especially Dwayne Johnson.”
Johnson recently wrapped work on Fast 8 before getting started on Jumanji, which is the project he’s currently working on as an actor and producer. Soon after he will begin promotions for Disney’s Moana with a long list of other projects waiting in the wings.
Lest we forget to mention that he’s a father of two, with his youngest daughter Jasmine not even a year old yet.
Johnson’s participation in the second GI Joe film helped catapult ticket sales past the $375 million mark in the global box office. So it’s no surprise why they’re waiting on him to have some free time to shoot the third.
