Jason Priestley suffered a concussion on Monday after falling off a horse while shooting the drama The Code in Canada. The actor was rushed to a nearby hospital for further examination.
The former 90210 star confirmed the news on his official Twitter account.
“Hey guys, thanks for all the kind words… It’s true, I did get thrown off a horse on set,” wrote Priestly. “I got my bell rung pretty good. Because I have a history of concussions, they took me to see a neurologist for an assessment. He advised I take a few days off as I had suffered a concussion. But I am definitely on the mend and looking forward to getting back to work with all the wonderful people on The Code.”
Priestley, 46, has suffered from multiple concussions in the past, including experiencing one following a 2002 race car crash in Kentucky, during which he also fractured his spine.
The Code, which is currently filming in Toronto, is set to premiere in Canada in the spring of 2016. In the ten-episode drama, Priestley will play Matt Shade, a former hockey player using his celebrity to work as a crime-solving private investigator. Cindy Sampson, Barry Flatman and Jordyn Negri also star in the drama.
