Madonna surprised her fans Wednesday night by offering an impromptu performance on Paris streets near The Place de la République.
The 57-year-old sang John Lennon‘s Imagine accompanied by her son David and guitarist Monte Pittman in front of a crowd that sang along while snapping pictures and videos:
Dressed in furry jackets, the “Queen Of Pop” also posted a picture alongside her 10-year-old stating she was a “proud mama”. During the gig they also sang hit songs from her repertoire including “Like a Prayer” and “Ghosttown.”
The performance occurred four weeks after the Paris terrorist attacks that left hundreds dead on November 13th. This isn’t the first time the singer pays homage to the victims of the attack. Days after the massacre, the artist took the stage in Sweden where she dedicated a couple of words to the fallen.
“It’s been very hard for me to get through this show up to this point and not forget about what happened last night, so I need to take this moment to acknowledge the tragedy, the tragic killings, assassinations and the senseless endings of precious life that occurred last night in Paris (…) Why am I up here dancing and having fun when people are crying over the loss of their loved ones?,” the singer stated.
