Sony released a new 31-second teaser trailer for Inferno. Directed by Ron Howard, the film is based on the Dan Brown novel by the same name.
The story follows Tom Hanks return as symbologist Robert Langdon on a trail of clues tied to the great Dante himself. When Langdon wakes up in an Italian hospital with amnesia, he teams up with Sienna Brooks (Felicity Jones), a doctor he hopes will help him recover his memories. Together, they race across Europe and against the clock to foil a deadly global plot.
“There’s a switch,” says Ben Foster, who plays the film’s villain. “If you throw it, half the people on Earth with die. But if you don’t, in 100 years the human race will be extinct.”
Irrfan Khan and Omar Sy also star. The script was written by David Koepp, who also penned Angels & Demons, following The Da Vinci Code.
Inferno hits theaters on Oct. 28.
