Zack Snyder, currently promoting his latest film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, revealed that future 300 sequels could go beyond Ancient Greece and explore other world conflicts.
“We’ve been talking a lot about sort of different incarnations of 300,” Snyder told Collider on Sunday. “We’ve been talking about is there a way, possibly, we move out of Ancient Greece and use it as a framing device for other conflicts that happened throughout history.”
“I think I mentioned that we talked about the Revolutionary War version, and we talked about the Alamo, and we’ve talked about there’s a battle in China, a Lost Legion kind of concept, any of those kinds of things are on the table,” he added.
While speaking about Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Snyder told Collider that the Joker and the Riddler both came close to being part of the movie.
“We talked about the possibility of putting them in,” he said. “[Screenwriter] Chris Terrio and I talked about it a lot and felt that their mythological presence is felt in the movie, and that’s cool, but I didn’t want to get my eye too far off the ball because I needed to spend the time, frankly, with Batman and Superman to understand the conflict.”
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters March 25.
