Jada Pinkett Smith will not be engaging in a war of words with Chris Rock, who mocked the actress during his opening monologue at this year’s Oscars after she boycotted the awards show for their lack of diversity among the acting categories.
“Hey look it comes with the territory, we gotta keep it moving,” she told photographers while traveling at Los Angeles International Airport on Saturday. “We got a lot of stuff we gotta handle, a lot of stuff going on in our world right now. We gotta keep it moving.”
At the ceremony on Feb. 28, Rock said of the actress, joking, “Jada says she’s not coming. Protesting. I’m like, ‘Ain’t she on a TV show? Jada boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna’s panties,” he said. “I wasn’t invited! Oh, that’s not an invitation I would turn down!”
Rock went on to poke fun at the Jada’s’ husband, Will Smith. “It’s not fair that Will was this good and didn’t get nominated,” he said of the actor’s role in Concussion. “It’s also not fair that Will was paid $20 million for Wild Wild West!”
