Jeremy Renner recently revealed that he would love to further explore his Marvel character Hawkeye in a Netflix series.
During a special panel presentation at Silicon Valley Comic Con this weekend, Renner was pressed about the future of his character and if he would be open to headlining a Netflix series.
“I think that’s actually a really great model, if there’s ever a way to explore the character, maybe it’s in that world,” Renner said. “These are things that are really not in my control, but I’d be open to it. I’ve really enjoyed getting to explore the character more recently. The Netflix model is where all the character drama goes to now, you’re doing a superhero movie or a Netflix or HBO kind of model. So I’d be open to it. Not up to me, though.”
Marvel has found great success in exploring some of its other superhero characters on television through its partnership with Netflix. Most recently exploring storylines for Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage.
When asked if he would consider a Netflix series with his on-screen partner, Scarlett Johansson, Renner responded: “In a second. “I’d love to do that.”
