Michelle Obama released a new song, titled “This Is for My Girls,” which features Missy Elliott, Zendaya, Kelly Clarkson, Kelly Rowland, Janelle Monae, Lea Michele, Chloe x Halle and Jada Grace.
The song, written by Diane Warren, was released on Tuesday a day prior to the first lady’s keynote speech at South by Southwest. The song was executive produced by AOL Makers.
The first lady does not sing on the new track but the lyrics were carefully crafted to support her initiative, Let Girls Learn, a program that provides educational opportunities to approximately 62 million girls around the world.
Warren, Elliott and actress Sophia Bush will join the first lady in a panel conversation Wednesday that will be moderated by Queen Latifah. President Barack Obama also participated in a Q&A session at South by Southwest last week to talk about the importance of technology and future advancements.
“This Is for My Girls” is available for download through various digital platforms. All proceeds will support the Peace Corps Let Girls Learn Fund.
