Ted Cruz Tells Jimmy Kimmel About
Randy Holmes/ABC

Jimmy Kimmel’s special guest Wednesday night was Senator Ted Cruz, who stopped by the talk show to discuss the election process, Donald Trump, and how he once wanted to be an actor.

Kimmel welcomed Cruz to the stage with the following words: “Please welcome… the only person running for president to publicly admit to have been bitten by an octopus.”

In a jokingly manner, Kimmel asked Cruz about his lack of popularity within Congress, addressing recent comments made by fellow Republicans John Boehner and Lindsey Graham, who called Cruz “Lucifer.”

“When you stand up to Washington, they don’t like it,” Cruz said. “Compared to Donald Trump, I am the quiet, shy, soft-spoken one.”

When asked who he liked better Obama or Trump, Cruz responded, “Donald is a unique individual. If I were in my car and getting ready to reverse and saw Donald in the backup camera, I’m not confident which pedal I would use.

To lighten things up Cruz spoke about the time he briefly lived in Los Angeles and wanted to become an actor. At the time Cruz was working at a law firm. “Everything was great,” he said. “Except I didn’t have good looks and I didn’t have talent.”

This was Cruz’s first appearance on Kimmel.
