Stephenie Meyer found major fame after authoring the young adult Twilight novels that inspired the hugely popular Twilight Saga films starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. But she’s done with vampires for now, according to a report from WSJ. Meyer confirmed she’s writing her second adult novel entitled, The Chemist due out on November 15.
“’The Chemist’ is the love child created from the union of my romantic sensibilities and my obsession with Jason Bourne/Aaron Cross,” Meyer said in a statement. “I very much enjoyed spending time with a different kind of action hero, one whose primary weapon isn’t a gun or a knife or bulging muscles, but rather her brain.”
Her yet unnamed lead character is said to have worked for the U.S. government and was an expert in her field. Much like Bourne, she’s one of the agency’s darkest secrets and they tried to get rid of her when she became a liability.
In order to get out safely, she must accept an offer from her former handler by taking one last job from her employers. Along the way, she’ll fall in love with a man that makes things even more dangerous for her.
Will she make it out alive? And more importantly, who will play her when the film most certainly heads to theaters?
