The Voice has added new mentors for the upcoming eleventh season. The reality competition show is announcing the addition of Bette Midler, Joan Jett, Sammy Hagar, and Charlie Puth to the all-star cast of judges and advisors.
Bette Midler is a Golden Globe, Emmy, Tony, and Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, and actress who hardly needs an introduction. Even though Adam Levine has been the judge trying to convince the Divine Miss M to jump onboard, she’ll be paired with Blake Shelton.
Rocker Joan Jett is known as the founding members of Joan Jett and The Blackhearts and The Runaways. Her hit remake of I Love Rock N Roll was a number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for seven weeks and the number 3 song of 1982. It was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2016.
Jett will be paired with 23-year-old Miley Cyrus after the blind auditions end. Cyrus is taking over as judge replacing Shelton’s girlfriend Gwen Stefani.
Another rocker joining the family is former Van Halen lead singer Sammy Hagar. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, who also founded his own brand of tequila, will team up with the aforementioned Levine.
New Jersey native Charlie Puth, who found fame after his YouTube videos went viral, will be paired off with Alicia Keys. Keys is filling the seat left empty by Pharell, but it’s not her first time on the show. She served as a guest advisor in 2014.
“The Voice” returns on Monday, September 19 to NBC.
