On Thursday’s Late Night, host Seth Meyers thought it was a good idea to read the worst reviews written about Fuller House to John Stamos, who stars and produces the new reboot.
The list of reviews for the Netflix show started with The Hollywood Reporter’s Daniel Fienberg, who wrote, “it’s doubtful that there will be a more painful 2016 TV episode than the Fuller House pilot.”
Stamos, who was such a good sport about the whole ordeal, responded, “He was being mauled by a bear when he wrote that. You’ll love episode two, Daniel!”
Meyers couldn’t contain his laughter while reading an excerpt of New York Times critic James Poniewozik‘s review. “Fuller House begins as a sitcom family reunion,” he wrote. “It becomes a self-conscious, dated and maudlin reminder of the ceaseless march of time and your inevitable demise.”
“James, it’s Fuller House, not Room, for God’s sake,” Stamos joked and later added, “After five days, Netflix said ‘let’s do a second season,’ so I thank the fans for that.”
