In total 101 celebrities found themselves involved in a massive hacking when photos that purportedly show them nude and semi-nude leaked on the Internet on Sunday August 31 via the online image-based bulletin board 4chan.
Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and Ariana Grande, are among the names of those seemingly affected.
It is unclear at this time who is responsible for the leak, though an active investigation is underway that reportedly involves Apple’s iCloud storing service, which automatically stores users’ photos and data online. Multiple reports indicate that the hacker may have potentially found a flaw in Apple’s “Find My Phone” service, but there is no evidence at this time to support that claim.
Lawrence’s publicist confirmed the photos are of the actress, stating,“This is a flagrant violation of privacy. The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence.”
It is the biggest celebrity hacking scandal of its kind, larger than the 2012 scandal that affected Scarlett Johansson, Christina Aguilera and Mila Kunis. A 35-year-old man, Christopher Chaney, pleaded guilty in that case, and received a 10-year prison sentence as a result.
Here is the full list of the celebrities purportedly exposed. However, not all photos that have been disseminated online appear to be genuine and not everyone on the list has seen photos of them leaked.

This is really a bit funny story, watching recent event and where it goes, I’m starting to doubt if anything can be done to stop stolen photos to spread all around the places and internet. There were quite few articles in different media on why celebs can’t stop it, and yes… I do believe now, that they can not stop it, no matter what.
