UPDATE:

According to the criminal complaint, Diamond allegedly stabbed a man using a folding knife with a 3.75 inch blade after getting into an argument with two men and another woman at the Grand Avenue Saloon bar in Port Washington, about 30 miles north of Milwaukee, at around 11:15 p.m. on Thursday evening. Diamond reportedly left the bar after the altercation and cops located him in a white SUV  shortly after, driven by his 27-year-old fianceé Amanda Schutz. Both were arrested and taken into custody.

The victim is reportedly at home after having been treated for a non life-threatening stab wound on his right armpit.

According to police reports, Diamond initially told officers he was carrying “a pen,” not a knife, but later said he accidentally stabbed the man while protecting his girlfriend. Other testimonies suggest Schutz was upset that people were taking pictures of them at the bar.

TMZ reports that Diamond appeared in court on Friday and claimed self-defense. His bail is set to $10,000.

According to reports, Diamond’s next hearing is set for Monday, December 29.

If he’s convicted on the endangering safety charge, he could face up to 10 years in jail, according to documents obtained by ABC News from the district attorney’s office.

PREVIOUSLY:

Dustin Diamond, the actor otherwise known as Screech from “Saved by the Bell,” was arrested early Friday morning in Wisconsin, police said.

He was booked in Ozaukee County outside Milwaukee for second-degree recklessly endangering safety, disorderly conduct, and carrying a concealed weapon.

Diamond, 37, is scheduled to appear in a hearing Friday afternoon.

His publicist could not be reached for comment.

Since his years as Screech, Diamond has managed to stay in the news. He had a stint on Celebrity Fit Club’s fifth season in 2007, and a year earlier, he staged his own sex tape in hopes of making some quick cash.

“I put the thing together. I got a stunt wang,” he told The Daily Beast in a candid interview earlier this year. “I’m not an idiot. I’m not going to really put myself out there. So I got a stunt person to come in. And I thought, what if this thing makes $3 million? That’s nothing to scoff at. But after that people looked at me dirty, like, ‘He does porn.’ No, I don’t! I faked that one at a chance for millions. I’m an opportunist, really. Needless to say it did not make millions. But I had to take the shot. I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t.”

Diamond made headlines once again in 2014 as executive producer of “The Unauthorized Saved By The Bell Story,” a controversial Lifetime movie depicting the supposed behind-the-scenes drama surrounding the 1990s hit TV show.

The movie was loosely based on Diamond’s 2009 tell-all book “Behind The Bell,” which has been slammed by his co-stars as negative and inaccurate.

Actor Mark-Paul Gosselaar, who played Zack Morris on the show, told Huff Post Live, “Everything I’ve heard about his book is it is negative. I don’t remember those things. My experience on the show was very positive.”

Diamond felt differently about the project, saying at the time of its release, “It’s going to surprise people because it’s not salacious, it’s not dirty, it’s not negative. It’s embracing all the positive things that happened and clarifying certain things. I think everyone’s going to like it, including the other cast members.”
