The popular telenovela star, Lorena Rojas, died at age 44 this Monday in Miami after a seven-year battle with cancer.
“Rojas took her last breath peacefully in her home, surrounded by the love of her family, her boyfriend and her closest friends,”, confirmed management agency Latin We Entertainment.
Rojas, who starred in more than a dozen telenovelas including “Alcanzar Una Estrella”, “El Cuerpo del Deseo” and “Pecados Ajenos”, was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008, the disease later spread to her bones and liver.
Her last appearance in a telenovela was two years ago in the production “Rosario”, afterwards she became fully dedicated to her daughter Luciana whom she adopted in 2013.
On Feb. 10th she celebrated her 44th birthday and took to Twitter to thank everyone for their b-day wishes.
“Thank you all for celebrating my birthday with me. Beautiful day.”
