John Dineen, fiancé of Downton Abbey star Michelle Dockery, died on Sunday at age 34. According to media reports, the commercial public relations executive died from a rare form of cancer he was diagnosed with earlier this year.
Dockery was on his bedside when he passed away at the Marymount Hospice in Cork, Ireland, center that specializes in palliative cancer treatment. A statement released by her publicists confirmed the sad news: “The family is very grateful for the support and kindness they have received but would kindly request that they are left to grieve in private.”
Last Thursday the actress flew back from the United States to Ireland. Dockery was doing a promotional US tour for Downton Abbey‘s final season. Along with her cast mates, Dockery visited important TV shows like The Late Show With Stephen Colbert and Watch What Happens Live.
