Mickey Mouse Club‘s Marque ‘Tate’ Lynche was found dead in his apartment on Sunday, officials confirm. According to NYPD Detective Martin Speechley, the 34-year-old’s body was found by his roommate. The investigation of his death is still ongoing.

The former “Mouseketeer” was part of MMC from 1993 to 1995, opposite Ryan Gosling, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera. The Facebook page dedicated to Mickey Mouse Club alums shared a post in memory of Lynche.

“Today has been a hard day for our Always In The Club family. The news of your passing spread through your AITC siblings rapidly, overwhelming each one with a sense of shock. Now as the evening has fallen, sadness is overtaking the shock. We are all heartbroken […] None of us is a stranger to loss and heartache, but as the first of our siblings to leave this life, this is new territory for us all. It is so hard to believe that one of our brothers is no longer with us. We love you dearly, we will miss you forever, and you will live on…Always In Our Hearts”, the post reads.

After his years with Disney, Lynche continued his career in the entertainment industry. In 2004, he was one of the contestants on American Idol’s third season, but was eliminated from the competition before the selection of the final 12. He was also part of the Broadway musical The Lion King, where he voiced Simba.

Rest in peace, Marque.
