R. Kelly has kept busy and under the radar these past couple of years preparing for his new album, The Buffet, a follow-up to his risque 2013 release Black Panties, but promotion for his new project isn’t going over so well. On Monday, the rapper abruptly cut short a live interview with the Huffington Post.

“I’ve created longevity musically. Got all different types of generations listening to my music, so in order for me to satisfy those different generations, I had to come up with something and Buffet was it. All different genres of music to feed different genres of people,” said Kelly about his 13th album before things took a sour turn.

When reporter Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani asked about the lack of support he’s endured over his history of sexual allegations, Kelly responded with the following:

“I didn’t come here for negative. I came here for positive. I don’t give people that’s negative towards me the time of day…when you start getting negativity coming at you, you pretty much don’t wanna hear that crap,” he said.  “So what I’m gonna tell you is that I am going to sit here and gonna talk to you like the beautiful lady you are, and I’m gonna talk to you with respect, but I’m gonna let you know that any other negative things come at me out of your mouth, as far as negativity, I’m gonna get up and walk out and I’m gonna go to McDonald’s. Hopefully, the McRib is out and I’m going to go home to Chicago, play me some basketball, go to the studio and work on my next album.”

Modarressy-Tehrani proceeded to ask him questions about his views on sex, at which point Kelly asked the host if she knew what a “deposition” was and left the studio.
