Former boy bander Nick Jonas is channeling his inner bad boy in the trailer for the upcoming big screen release Goat. The film will show what goes on when college students pledge fraternities, with a special focus on the hazing culture. Jonas is introduced as Brent Land, a college guy trying to help his brother Brad (Ben Schnetzer) get into his fraternity.
Brad, who is still reeling from a terrifying assault, has to mentally and physically prepare for Hell Week. At first, Brent joins his frat brothers in hazing the recruits and even enjoyed seeing Brad go through it, but soon he became disillusioned. That’s his brother and he can’t deal with seeing him go through such torture. How will he save him before it’s too late?
The film is based on Brad Land’s 2004 memoir of the same name, about a young kid dealing with a lot of emotions after getting beaten and robbed by strangers, hazed at school, and the death of a schoolmate.
Andrew Neel (New World Order) serves as director and co-stars include James Franco (Done Quixote: The Ingenious Gentleman of La Mancha), Virginia Gardner (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit), and Jake Picking (Bad Grandpa).
Goat opens in theaters and will be available on VOD on September 23.
