James Corden wants in on the next Deadpool movie. In a new skit from The Late Late Show Thursday night, Ryan Reynolds is subject to an unsolicited audition from Corden to be Deadpool’s sidekick.
Reynolds sitting behind a desk in his office reluctantly agrees to hear out Corden’s ideas, all while the comedian parades an elaborate array of costumes.
“I watched it, I loved it, but I couldn’t help but feel it was missing something: a sidekick,” Corden explains. He then proceeded to reveal various characters he would be willing to portray, including The Iceman, Strawberry Shortfuse, a clam, a magic clown and Potato Man.
“All I’m saying is, if you don’t do this, Marvel will,” Corden said. “They’ve made that quite clear. They think Potato Man is its own entity.”
After five costumes changes, Reynolds finally comes up with the perfect solution for a sidekick: Double Deadpool.
