Lin-Manuel Miranda is gearing up to host his first-ever Saturday Night Live and instead of relaxing, he decided to visit the standby line to greet those who may not get a seat for his debut. Not only did he share greetings but he also ordered enough pizza for fans, many of which had been in line for two days.
“Hello, hello, hello,” Miranda told everyone in line as he walked out of 30 Rock. “I want you to know it’s going to be dope, it’s going to be great. We’re sending pizzas for all of you. I’ll hopefully see you all tomorrow night.”
The Hamilton creator is set to host on SNL on Saturday, October 8 at 11:30pm on NBC with musical guest Twenty One Pilots. Miranda is the first person in at least a decade to host the sketch comedy show that found fame through his work in the theater. Others include Sir Ian McKellan in 2002 and Bernadette Peters in 1981.
There’s no telling what hilarity Miranda will get into but if the promos are any indication, it will be a night full of fun. Maybe it’s time Alexander Hamilton had a chat with presidential hopeful Donald Trump? Alec Baldwin made his debut as Trump recently to high praise so there is the potential the duo could score huge laughs.
