The cast of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child celebrated a very special visit on Wednesday night. Rupert Grint, who brought to life the character of Ron Weasley in all eight of the big screen adaptations of the J.K. Rowling books, stopped by the Palace Theater to meet the cast and check out the show. Photos from the production’s official Twitter account captured the moment Grint met the man who plays the future Ron, Paul Thornley.
“Rupert Grint and @paulfthornley meet after the #CursedChild this evening,” they Tweeted. #KeepTheSecrets
Grint is the second of the three original cast members to watch the play and meet the cast. Emma Watson popped by in early July sharing a multitude of photos from her meet-and-greet with counterpart Noma Dumezweni. No word yet as to when Daniel Radcliffe plans to visit his future self in the West End play, if at all.
Other cast members who have stopped by include Rupert’s on-screen sister Bonnie Wright, who in fact met Ginny’s future self, played by Poppy Miller and Helena Bonham Carter who attended the same screening. Jim Broadbent, who played Professor Slughorn missed Grint by a couple of days. He visited Cursed Child on August 8.
There’s no telling who else might make a special appearance to find out what happened to “the boy who lived” though certainly, all eyes are on Radcliffe who famously portrayed the boy wizard on the big screen.
