Tom Hiddleston would love more than anything to play James Bond. In a recent interview with The Sunday Times, Hiddleston said he’s a huge fan of the Bond series and would be honored to be involved in any way. The actor is currently promoting his spy thriller The Night Manager, a six part series currently airing in the U.K.

“I simply love the theme tune, the tropes and the mythology. I love the whole thing,” he said. “If it ever came knocking, it would be an extraordinary opportunity. And I’m very aware of the physicality of the job. I would not take it lightly.”

Other actors vying for the coveted role include Tom Hardy, Idris Elba, Damian Lewis, Aiden Turner and Henry Cavill.

Last month, Daniel Craig signed up to take on a major role in Jonathan Franzen‘s 20-part TV adaptation of his book Purity. Over the past year, the actor has hinted that he’s ready to move on from the James Bond franchise, after saying he would rather “slash my wrists” than work on another 007 film. He later said he was still enjoying the role and that he would keep going for “as long as I’m physically able.”
