Carrie Fisher stopped by The Jonathan Ross Show and reenacted famous lines from Star Wars. She was joined by comedian Russell Howard, who also was a guest on the show.
Russell was given a Darth Vader mask and helped Fisher read lines from a scene in Star Wars: A New Hope between Vader and Leia, when the Sith Lord captures the princess and her ship.
The shows producers added a synthesizer effect to Howard’s voice, but the British accent is quite evident. Fisher explained on the show that David Prowse, who physically portrayed Darth Vader, had his voice dubbed over by James Earl Jones precisely because of his British accent.
“Well, they always knew they were not going to use that voice,” Fisher said. “We called him Darth Farmer.”
Star Wars clips with Prowse’s voice surfaced online, you can watch a few here.
