One day ahead of its big San Diego Comic-Con debut, Son of Zorn debuted a trailer on Friday. In Fox’s new hybrid live-action / animated family comedy star Jason Sudeikis as the voice of Zorn, an animated warrior who leaves his war-torn village to return to Orange County, CA after being away for ten years. The reason? To win back his ex-wife Edie (played by Cheryl Hines) and his moody son Alan (played by Johnny Pemberton).
“This is utterly unique – there has literally never been a show like this. And, of course, it is very, very funny,” David Madden, Fox Broadcasting Co. entertainment president said. “The fantastically talented duo of Phil Lord and Chris Miller are yet again delivering precedent-setting television. Jason Sudeikis makes his animated character sound and feel live-action, and Cheryl, Johnny and Tim [Meadows] have incredible chemistry with him that crosses formats, genres, and galaxies.”
If you’re in San Diego, check out the Son of Zorn panel and screening on Saturday the 23rd of July from 5pm-6pm in the Indigo Ballroom. They also have the Mount Zephyria Mighty Rock Climb & Free Fall at Bayfront Park. Climb Mount Zephyria and once at the top, make a nearly three-story free fall jump to the base, which will be captured by cameras to share/post. If that sounds too scary, you can also capture and share their photos riding Zorn’s 10-foot tall Death Hawk.
