Come 2017, Demi Lovato will be feeling blue, but for all the right reasons. The 22-year-old is set to be the voice of Smurfette in the new movie Get Smurfy. The actress and singer will star alongside other famous voice-cast Rainn Wilson, who will wreck havoc as the evil Gargamel, and Mandy Patinkin who will play the loveable Papa Smurf.
The newest installment in the Smurfs series, or as Latinos call it “Los Pitufos,” will follow Smurfette and her brothers as they journey out in search of the Enchanted Forest, while at the same time going up against Gargamel. Get Smurfy also promises to answer all our questions about the Smurfs, including why Smurfette is the only female left in the tribe up until Sassette comes along.
Get Smurfy is set to release on March 31, 2017.
To celebrate the news, Lovato and the new cast released an exciting video revealing their characters and asking us, “Who says being blue is a bad thing?” Watch below!
In other Lovato news, we see the Latina is ready to get back to her acting roots, as last week it was announced that she would guest star on director’s Robert Rodriguez’s From Dusk Till Dawn, the El Rey Network series that also stars her boyfriend, Wilmer Valderrama.
