Becky G has landed the role of a lifetime! The 18-year-old singer is headed to Fox’s hit TV show Empire for its second season. The news was announced via Empire’s official Twitter page by Bryshere Y. Gray, who plays Hakeem in the series.
Prior to the announcement, Becky teased the big news on Twitter by sharing a picture of a trailer with the name “Valentina” written on a door. “I was in Chicago studying my script. Can you guys guess what I’ve been filming?” read the photo’s caption.
The “Can’t Stop Dancin’” singer also shared a personal video of herself after nailing her final audition for the show. Fox hasn’t released any details about her character.
Becky G joins a long list of special guests that will participate in the critically acclaimed series starring Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson. Other celebrities set to appear in the upcoming season are Kelly Rowland, Chris Rock, Alicia Keys and Lenny Kravitz. Magic Mike XXL star Adam Rodriguez will join the cast in a recurring role.
Empire’s sophomore season returns September 23.
