Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin, Shakira, Gloria and Emilio Estefan are among the Latin superstars who will be featured in The Latin Explosion: A New America, a new documentary set to air on HBO and HBO Latino this fall.

Created and executive produced by Tommy Mottola, The Latin Explosion will chart the history of Latin music in the United States and take a closer look at how artists representing different decades changed and impacted the cultural, political and economical conversations in the U.S. The doc will also feature artists like Desi Arnaz to highlight the craze from the 50s, Carlos Santana‘s edgier lifestyle in the 60s, to the more recent exploding pop acts — Marc Anthony, Lopez, Martin, Pitbull and more.

“We have assembled the largest array of Latino superstars ever in a film telling a powerful story of their history and immigration, politics, and rise from a small minority population to the most critical demographic in the United States,” Mottola said in a statement. “Latinos spend $1.3 trillion a year, making them one of the most powerful groups of consumers today. Latinos played a large part in the outcome of the last election and will certainly be a larger part in the upcoming 2016 election. There is no doubt in my mind that by 2025 we will have a Latino president.”

Matthew O’Neill and Jon Alpert, the men behind the Oscar nominated 2010 doc China’s Unnatural Disaster, directed and produced the film, narrated by John Leguizamo. Others featured include Eva Longora, Sofía Vergara, Thalía, George Lopez, Romero Santos, Los Lobos. Cheech Marin and Rita Moreno.

The Latin Explosion: A New America premieres November 16th.
