Spanish-dubbed episodes of South Park will debut this Monday night on NBC Universo, becoming the first animated series to air on the Spanish network.
“By adding South Park to our already bold programming lineup, NBC UNIVERSO is going where no other Spanish cable network has gone before,” said Arelys Carballo, Vice President of Programming for the entertainment and sports network. “South Park is a daring series that introduces an irreverent brand of comedy to our Hispanic viewers and adds an exciting twist to our lineup.”

In the hopes of targeting a new Latino audience with its irreverent comedy, the Emmy award winning show, created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, will take the network’s 10pm slot. With already 19 successful seasons on Comedy Central, South Park has become the longest-running primetime scripted series on cable.
The show revolves around four boys and their adventures in South Park, Colorado. The controversial series parodies celebrities, news events and trending topics such as transgender and body shaming issues, including public figures like Caitlyn Jenner and Demi Lovato to tell the stories.
NBC Universo recently added Spanish-dubbed re-runs of the action packed series Prison Break to their programming, airing every Tuesday at 10pm.
