Emma Watson returns to the big screen in Florian Gallenberger’s Colonia. Based loosely on true events, the film takes place in 1973 just after the violent military coup that put General Augusto Pinochet into power in Chile.
The filmmakers released a new trailer on Wednesday via Yahoo. The dark love story takes place in the 1970s during Chile’s civil war. Watson plays Lena, a young woman desperate to find her missing boyfriend Daniel (Daniel Brühl) amid the political turmoil.
In a desperate attempt to find him, Lena becomes part of dangerous cult that masks its existence through a charitable mission run by Paul Schäfer (Michael Nyqvist).
Colonia opens in select theaters and VOD on April 15.
There was no civil war in Chile!!! but a right wing militar cue supported and financed by the CIA and the Nixon administration (USA). someone didn’t aproved the history class….
