Teen Wolf star Tyler Hoechlin will join the cast of Fifty Shades Darker, Universal confirmed on Friday. The actor will play Boyce Fox, a co-worker of Anastasia Steele. The character is only briefly mentioned in E. L. James’ books, as a rising author who signs with Christian Grey’s publishing company.
Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan are returning to reprise their roles of Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey, respectively. Luke Grimes, Eloise Mumford and Max Martini are also returning to the cast, with Niall Leonard and James penning the script.
Kim Basinger will also join the cast in the key role of Elena Lincoln, Christian Grey’s Business partner and former lover. Other newcomers include Bella Heathcote, Eric Johnson, Brant Daugherty, and Arielle Kebbel.
The film will be directed by James Foley, who will also direct the third installment of the saga, Fifty Shades Freed. Foley is best known for his dramas “After Dark, My Sweet,” “At Close Range,” “Fear” and “Glengarry Glen Ross.”
Hoechlin will appear next in Everybody Wants Some, a coming-of-age sports comedy directed by Richard Linklater. The film also stars Ryan Guzman, Tyler Hoechlin, Wyatt Russell and Zoey Deutch. Everybody Wants Some hits theaters April 1.
Fifty Shades Darker opens Feb. 10, 2017.
