20th Century Fox has released a new TV spot for Independence Day: Resurgence, as well as two behind-the-scenes featurettes. Directed by Roland Emmerich, the film stars Liam Hemsworth and Jeff Goldblum.
The new videos highlight the filming of a sequence at the Utah Salt Flats, as well as a closer look at the Space Tug, the starship that is piloted by Hemsworth’s character.
The sequel reunites several members from the 1996 original film, which takes place 20 years after the first invasion and sees the aliens coming back to Earth.
The synopsis reads: Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defense program to protect the planet. But nothing can prepare humans for the aliens’ advanced and unprecedented force. Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction.
The cast includes Bill Pullman, Judd Hirsch, Vivica A. Fox, Brent Spiner, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Jessie Usher, Maika Monroe, and Sela Ward.
Independence Day: Resurgence opens June 24, 2016.
