Willie Stoke is back for my Christmas adventures in Bad Santa 2, coming to theaters on November 23. Billy Bob Thornton returns as Stoke and he’s as grumpy as you remember in this long-awaited sequel.

“We’ve been waiting far too long to see Billy Bob’s Willie Soke mess with the holiday season in his own unique way,” said Zanne Devine of Miramax.

So what has Willie been up to all these years? There are only bits and pieces of information as to what the plot is, with most of it being kept well under wraps. When Mad Men alum Christina Hendricks joined the cast, she was described as, “an Ivy League-educated, upper-class woman who runs a charity that is targeted by Thornton’s mall Santa and his foul-mouthed, tough-as-nails mother (played by Kathy Bates). And just as Lauren Graham does in the original, Hendricks has a thing for shady lowlifes in a Santa costume.”

During promotions for his film, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot Thornton told Metro “Some of the nasty stuff is even nastier, but this one has more heart — even compared to the heart of the first one, which did have a beating heart. It went to both extremes a little more. We have a couple scenes that you could put in ‘On the Waterfront.’”

Bad Santa 2 is directed by Mark Waters (Mean Girls) and also co-stars Tony Cox who returns as Marcus and Brett Kelly who also returns in the role of Thurman Merman.
