Vin Diesel knows how to use social media to get fans excited about his upcoming projects. The 49-year-old action star took to Facebook to share the trailer for the third installment of the xXx films, The Return of Xander Cage. It’s a proper tease that comes in at a (not so) whopping 11 seconds. But fans of the franchise, no doubt, screamed with excitement as Diesel as Cage says, “Damn it feels good to be back,” in the trailer.
According to Coming Soon, here’s what you can expect:
“Extreme athlete turned government operative Xander Cage (Vin Diesel) comes out of self-imposed exile, thought to be long dead, and is set on a collision course with deadly alpha warrior Xiang (Donnie Yen) and his team in a race to recover a sinister and seemingly unstoppable weapon known as Pandora’s Box. Recruiting an all-new group of thrill-seeking cohorts, Xander finds himself enmeshed in a deadly conspiracy that points to collusion at the highest levels of world governments.”
The Return of Xander is being directed by D.J. Caruso (I Am Number Four, Eagle Eye) and co-stars Orange is the New Black star Ruby Rose, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children star Samuel L. Jackson, and Hector and the Search for Happiness star Toni Collette.
The film hits theaters on January 20, 2017.
