Lady Gaga is continuing to show her support for sexual assault victims by releasing three PSAs that highlight the matter on her Instagram account.
“Join us and raise your voice to make change. Protect every woman and man from sexual violence in the workplace and beyond,” Gaga wrote.
One image showcases three women waiting for a job interview and reads, “This is not a date, this is a job interview.” Another is of a recording studio and reads, “This is not a bedroom. This is my office.” And the last one of a young lady raising her hand in a classroom reads, “This is not a bar. This is a classroom.”
The posts are captioned with the hashtags #FreeEveryWoman, #FreeEveryMan, #FreeKesha. Gaga has publicly supported Kesha in her lawsuit against producer Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottwald, who she says abused her sexually and emotionally in an October 2014 complaint. Gottwald has denied all allegations and has also launched a suit of his own accusing defamation.
Sony recently released a statement regarding the lawsuits and has been called to action by more than 23,000 members of UltraViolet, a national women’s advocacy organization. The women want Sony Music executives to permanently cut ties with Gottwald and not renew his company’s contract with the music label this year.
The release of the public service announcements comes a week after Gaga performed her Oscar-nominated song “Til It Happens To You” at the 88th Annual Academy Awards. The singer was joined onstage by 50 rape survivors.
