Trailer Park Boys star Michael Smith was arrested on Friday on suspicion of domestic battery following an incident in Hollywood with his 21-year-old girlfriend.
Authorities responded to the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel around 1:15 a.m. Friday after receiving a call about domestic battery, according to Officer Mike Lopez of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Witnesses told TMZ that Smith was arguing with a woman at the Roosevelt Hotel when they heard her screaming, “You’re choking me.” They alleged they saw the actor pushing the woman against a wall.
The 43-year-old Canadian actor, who plays the character Bubbles in the Netflix series, was arrested and released on $20,000 bail around 5 a.m., according to jail records.
Smith is scheduled to appear in court April 29.
Trailer Park Boys was created, written and directed by Mike Clattenburg, the show is a mockumentary on the residents of fictional Sunnyvale Trailer Park in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The cast includes John Paul Tremblay, Robb Wells, Michae Smith, John Dunsworth, Patrick Roach and Lucy DeCoutere.
