A cameraman was injured while working on the set of BBC America’s Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency. The operator was struck by an SUV early Wednesday morning in East Vancouver. Constable Brian Montague, a representative for the Vancouver Police department, confirmed a stunt driver in an SUV had an accident with a cameraman while cameras were rolling.
“At about 12:30 am, a 55-year-old cameraman was accidentally struck by a stuntman driving an SUV while on set near east Broadway and Guelph Street,” Montague said in a statement.
Representatives for the network spoke to The Hollywood Reporter confirming the news and gave an update on the patient.
“We can confirm that unfortunately a member of our crew was injured on set early this morning. He was taken to the hospital and was discharged a few hours later,” a BBC America spokesperson told the Hollywood Reporter in a statement on Wednesday.
The site also states that production continued on the Elijah Wood and Samuel Barnett series based on Douglas Adams’ graphic novels from IDW Entertainment. Dirk Gently’s Detective Agency is set to premiere on October 22.
