On a night dominated by Donald Trump news on Saturday Night Live, host Lin-Manuel Miranda and Kate McKinnon took on the most popular show of the summer Stranger Things. The former played the role of Dustin Henderson, lisp and all, and the latter played the role of Eleven. The skit opened with a spoofed introduction by show creators The Duffer Brothers who promise season two will tackle some of the big mysteries from season 1. They include: where’s the upside down? Will Barb be coming back? Where are Lucas’s parents?
Sadly the “preview” only solves one of those mysteries. Leslie Jones and Kenan Thompson play the role of Lucas’s parents, who have some of the funniest lines in the entire skit.
Lucas: “We have to find the upside down!”
Dad: “The what?”
Lucas: It’s like the normal world but scarier. There’s danger at every turn.”
Mom: “Baby, people who look like us are already live in the upside down.”
Dad: “Let me put it to you this way Lucas, you don’t have to go looking for scary stuff. It’s going to find you.”
