Panamanian actress Patricia de Leon is tackling a difficult topic on tonight’s episode of Notorious. In “Kept and Broken,” de Leon stars as Silvia Baez, a woman whose teenage daughter has gone missing but her case has been deemed unimportant. Luckily she finds an ally in Julia (Piper Perabo) who offers to air her case on Louise Herrick Live.

“Yes, my child is missing,” de Leon told Variety Latino. “I don’t want to give away too much but she is involved in the disappearance in a certain way. When I saw the script I was really taken by it because of what it was about. I don’t think enough people pay attention to those types of cases especially when it comes to Latinos in the United States.”

Adding, “I think she feels the pain that I have, so she brings me into the station and helps me after hearing what I have to say about my case. She felt that motherly pain that I was having while missing my child. So she brings me in and puts me in the spotlight so I can advocate for my own child. Julie put me out there so my daughter could hear my message. So whether she ran away from home or whatever happened, she knows I am here and praying that she comes back.”

NOTORIOUS - "Kept and Broken" - After his affair with Sarah is exposed on live TV, Jake learns a troubling secret about his former lover and is blindsided by new allegations. Meanwhile, the media fervor over a wealthy missing girl prompts Julia to undertake a personal search for a lesser-known victim whose life is in danger, on "Notorious," airing THURSDAY, OCTOBER 27 (9:00-10:00 p.m. EDT), on the ABC Television Network. Working on this specific storyline has helped de Leon learn more about the plight of missing children and their families. She hopes that the episode will help bring attention to such an important topic that affects so many families in the United States.

“It’s so important for the press to get behind cases like this. Approximately 2,000 kids go missing daily. The chance that a family will have to get the opportunity to be in front of an audience is slim. This is something that is very important. There are a lot of people that don’t get that chance and they may never find their kids.

My daughter on the show is a teenager. It’s one of those cases where you don’t know if the kid ran away from home, which happens so often.”

Also in the episode, you’ll see Oscar (Kevin Zegers) tell the world that his attorney and friend Jake (Daniel Sunjata) was having an affair with his wife before she died. The allegation and the photo of them in bed together is enough to get Oscar to point the finger at Jake for her murder live on LHL.

Tune-in for an all-new episode of Notorious Thursday night at 9pm only on ABC.
