TLC is ready to make a come back and this time they want their fans to help them out.
The R&B group, which consists of T-Boz and Chilli, opened up a Kickstarter campaign to fund their last and final album and Katy Perry made a hefty donation of $5,000.
The duo still has 27 more days to go but already met their goal of $150,000 and have currently reached $183,647.
“We owe so much of our success to you. Your loyalty and support throughout the past 20 years motivates us to do our best work. Without you, we wouldn’t have ten top 10 singles and four number 1 singles,” reads their Kickstarter page. “We wouldn’t have won five Grammy awards or sold 65 million records worldwide. Without you, we wouldn’t have become the most successful girl group of all time! Without you there would be no TLC!!”
“This album, our FINAL ALBUM, is dedicated to all of you that have stuck with us, always challenging us to do our best. And of course, it’s for the new fans too! 😉 We just want to put out great music that touches everyone. That’s it.”
But that’s not all of it!
The ladies have just announced that they are going on a new tour, “The Main Event,” with New Kids on The Block and Nelly.
“We’re going to come out on some of their [songs],” Chilli joked to E! News. “We’re going to study [their dance moves] every day and then we are going to pop up.”
Can’t wait!
The 30-city tour will go all across North America starting in Las Vegas on May 1st and ending in Buffalo, New York on July 2nd.
Tickets are set to go on sale starting Jan. 31 on LiveNation.
