STX Entertainment released the first trailer for The Space Between Us Wednesday, starring Asa Butterfield as a boy born on Mars during NASA’s first attempt to colonize the Red Planet.
Directed by Peter Chelsom, the film tells the story of Gardner Elliot an inquisitive, highly intelligent boy born in Mars. While searching for clues about his father, and the home planet he’s never known, Gardner begins an online friendship with a street smart girl in Colorado named Tulsa.
When he finally gets a chance to go to Earth, he’s eager to experience all of the wonders he could only read about on Mars, from the most simple to the extraordinary. But once his explorations begin, scientists discover that Gardner’s organs can’t withstand Earth’s atmosphere.
The film also stars Gary Oldman and Carla Gugino. The script was written by Allan Loeb (Rock of Ages).
The Space Between Us arrives in theaters August 19th.
Anyone remember ABC Afternoon Specials, Teachers would make us run home to watch so called coming of age films often with messages of morality? Again lack of Science paves the way for more Martian Atracks. The odds of a Martian baby is zero point zero. But if it was to happen, person would be much shorter with a dire need to eat potatoes! Seriously, Boyhood on Mars.. looks good for Millinions, older market will be tough. @JEV1A
