Daniel Radcliffe is shedding his boy wizard image from his Harry Potter days like you’ve never seen before, in the trailer for his upcoming film Imperium. The British-born actor stars as Nate Foster, an FBI agent who goes undercover to take down a radical ring-wing terrorist group. Radcliffe shaves off all his hair and goes deep undercover into a world of white supremacy, danger and terrorism.
Foster is young and he’s ambitious, but will he be able to navigate between the two worlds and not lose himself?
“I need an informant,” Angela Zamparo (played by Toni Collette) says to Foster in the trailer. “Get in there and make a difference. He responds, “I don’t have the skills for this. I can’t even defend myself.”
She replies, “You do have the skills by relating to these guys as human beings.”
The film, which is based on true life events, is directed by Daniel Ragussis and co-stars Bates Motel star Nestor Carbonell, True Blood‘s Sam Trammell, And Then There Were None star Burn Gorman, and Our Kind of Traitor‘s Pawel Szajda.
Imperium opens in theaters across the U.S. on August 19.
