Little Louis Drax (Aiden Longworth) has managed to cheat death after eight accidents during his short eight years of life, in the new film The 9th Life of Louis Drax. On his ninth birthday, during a picnic with his parents, the boy almost wasn’t as lucky after a near-fatal fall down a cliff.
While the boy is in a coma, his father, Peter (Aaron Paul), becomes a suspect and his mother, Natalie (Sarah Gadon), becomes dangerously close to his neurologist Dr. Allan Pascal (Jamie Dornan). The doctor works closely along a psychologist (Oliver Platt) to tap into the boy’s unconscious mind to try and reveal what’s behind this string of accidents.
Based on the international best-selling novel by Liz Jensen of the same name, the supernatural thriller promises to test the boundaries of fantasy and reality. Are there mysterious forces at work or is one of his parents at fault?
Barbara Hershey (Once Upon a Time), Molly Parker (House of Cards) and Beckham Skodje as a young Louis Drax, also co-star in this film directed by Alexandre Aja (Piranha 3D).
The 9th Life of Louis Drax opens in theaters September 2.
