AC/DC announced this weekend that Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose will be joining them on the remaining dates of their Rock or Bust tour. Last month, the band was forced to reschedule 10 shows after doctors advised lead singer Brian Johnson to “stop touring immediately or risk total hearing loss.”
“AC/DC band members would like to thank Brian Johnson for his contributions and dedication to the band throughout the years,” AC/DC said in a statement. “We wish him all the best with his hearing issues and future ventures. As much as we want this tour to end as it started, we understand, respect and support Brian’s decision to stop touring and save his hearing. We are dedicated to fulfilling the remainder of our touring commitments to everyone that has supported us over the years, and are fortunate that Axl Rose has kindly offered his support to help us fulfill this commitment.”
The tour will resume with Rose beginning May 7 in Lisbon, Portugal. Current ticket holders may hold onto their tickets for the rescheduled concerts, or receive a refund.
Rose reunited with his Guns N’ Roses band mates Slash and Duff McKagan at Coachella. They were joined by AC/DC guitarist Angus Young.
