Justin Bieber, who won his first Grammy for best dance recording, took the stage at the 2016 Grammy Awards. The singer sang an acoustic version of his single Love Yourself and a special arrangement of Where Are Ü Now, featuring the song’s producers, DJs Skrillex and Diplo, on guitar and keys, respectively.
Bieber was also joined onstage by Jamie xx, a producer and DJ who also plays with British band The xx. This was Bieber’s first awards show performance since his emotional appearance at the VMAs in August.
Other performers included Taylor Swift, who opened the ceremony with Out of the Woods. Followed by Sam Hunt and Carrie Underwood, who sang Take Your Time and Heartbeat. The Weeknd received praise after performing his hit songs Can’t Feel My Face and In the Night.
Adele brought people to tears with her emotional performance of All I Ask. John Legend, Demi Lovato, Luke Bryan, Meghan Trainor and Tyrese Gibson also paid a special tribute to Lionel Richie.
Kendrick Lamar received a standing ovation for his fiery performance of The Blacker the Berry and Alright.
