Lewis Black and Joy Behar will join the cast of Woody Allen’s untitled Amazon series. The half-hour show will be written and directed by Allen, who will also star alongside Elaine May.
Other new cast members added to the series include Becky Ann Baker, Margaret Ladd, Rebecca Schull, David Harbour, Christine Ebersole and Michael Rapaport.
Miley Cyrus, John Magaro, and Rachel Brosnahan will also star alongside Allen in his first ever scripted series. Plot details have yet to be released.
During a press conference at the Cannes Film Festival, Allen candidly opened up about the project and the struggles he’s currently facing. “It was a catastrophic mistake for me,” he said. “I’m doing my best with it, but I should never have gotten into it. I thought six half-hours would be a cinch, but it’s not. It’s very, very hard. I’m not good at it, I’m floundering. It could be a cosmic embarrassment.”
The show will be available exclusively on Prime Instant Video in the U.S., U.K. and Germany.
